The Fund

Our Mission

We are a student-run investment club collectively managing a $30,000 long-only equity fund. We aim to provide an inclusive, accessible and educational experience that offers a hands-on opportunity for our students looking at a career in finance.

Through our training programme, educational material and lectures, we give our members the tools they need to analyse and pitch equity to be considered for the fund. Due to our members' varied degrees, ages and experiences, diversity encourages debate and allows new ideas and approaches to be explored. We hope this will give our members the tools and expertise they need for a career in the financial industry.

Sector Overview

Sector Heads

The Fund is divided into 6 Sector Coverage Teams; each team comprises 2 Sector Heads, and around 20 analysts. The Sector Coverage Teams are led by the Fund Management, a sub-committee of the Society.

Analysts

Our analysts are the life-blood of what we do. Primarily, the role of an analyst is to research and analyze publicly-traded equities globally. Each sector meets weekly to share findings and work towards producing an equity recommendation based on our investment process and philosophy. We provide all members with the necessary training through our formal educational talks and Analyst Training Program,

The analysis, research, and analyst training culminate in our bi-annual stock pitch in which each Sector Coverage Team presents an equity recommendation to the wider Society. Through a democratic process, the equity recommendation may be integrated into our real-money portfolio, if the investment rationale resonates with our members. These stock pitches are an essential component in ensuring our Fund Management effectively governs the investment decisions.
